Designers made jobless and homeless by Katrina may have a new place to turn.
A load of creative people were working in the states hit by Katrina. Many of them lost everything they had. Home, health, food, job, everything.
Now there’s a website where these folks can find a place to crash, maybe some work, or look on the bulleting boards to see if their co-workers have found dry ground.
It’s called Displaced Designer and already there are posts there of room and board offers and there are a lot of links to other resources.
Like Craig’s list, one of the first places we all go to find out what’s going on, and the I’m OK registry, where people can let their loved ones know they’re OK and we can look for the people we haven’t been able to get in touch with.
This is what makes the web so cool folks.
Check it out, and if you’ve got some room, some desks or a space to contribute, pitch in!
